EEMN21 -
Introduction to Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-chip Systems 7.5 hp

This course introduces you to how liquids behave on the microscale and how that can be applied to miniaturize various chemical and biological lab procedures into lab-on-a-chip systems. The course covers some theoretical microfluidics background as well as many examples of applications within chemistry, biotechnology and medicine. You also get to try yourself in three lab exercises and a short project.

EEMN26 -
Lab-on-a-chip in Biomedical Applications 7.5 hp

The course has a focus on biomedical applications of microfluidics and lab-on-a-chip technology. We will mix lectures from international researchers, biomedical companies and clinicians to describe state-of-the-art developments in the corresponding microfluidic settings. The lecture series will highlight how microfluidics and bioanalysis can be combined to create completely new opportunities for medical diagnostics and therapy. The course additionally gives a hands-on experience of some of these techniques in one lab exercise and a longer project.
