Advanced Academic Writing

writing

Good writing skills are essential for getting manuscripts published, and for securing research funding.

This course (BME001F, credits: 7,5 hp) will allow you to focus on honing your practical writing skills in realistic settings. You will write manuscripts for mock publication, get back mock comments from the "editors" and "reviewers", and you will write and "submit" rebuttal letters and revised manuscripts. You will also write a grant application including budget.

You can find example documents, links, and tools under 'Useful resources'. If you want, you can use your own research data in your texts, but be careful about spreading sensitive or patentable information.  You may also use fabricated data if you are short on real data. The next course starts May 6th, 2024.  This is currently a 100 % online course (but not in Canvas).
