Neuroengineering

Our research is mainly focusing on the following areas: neuromuscular control, neuromuscular modelling, muscle-machine interface, human-machine interfaces, sensors and haptics.

We employ machine/deep learning models to create state of the art human machine interfaces based on signals derived from muscles and the brain. We use signal processing techniques to unravel how motor neurons are recruited when performing different tasks and in different impairments. We develop solutions to create sensorized prosthetic hands and to provide sensory feedback. Most of our research is performed in close collaboration with clinical centers nationally and internationally.
